                        Teach diverse groups of entry level college students, develop and implement various instructional techniques and novel

assessments which include linked courses, web-enhanced courses, team     

teaching, and learning communities.

 

Design and present courses in the following subfield areas:  General Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Psychology of Adjustment, Child/Adolescent, Adulthood and Aging Psychology, Lifespan Psychology, Psychology of Death and Dying, Social Psychology, Psychology of Women and On-Course.

 

Develop linkages between students and the community through on-going service learning projects.

 

Collaborate to develop and implement cluster course work (Learning Communities) to facilitate academic success and retention of under-represented students.

Outside Evaluator for Normandale Community College Psychology Department’s Review.

 

Evaluator for Educational Testing Service AP Psychology Exam.

 

Participant in NSF Tried and True:  Investigative Psychophysiology for Introductory Psychology Courses.

 

Reader of nominations for Minnesota Psychological Association Academic Teaching Awards.

 

                        Team member and Pew grant recipient for Emerging Curricula.

 

Organizer for three statewide Minnesota Community College System Psychology Faculty workshops.

 

Represented Minnesota Community College System in the development of Minnesota Transfer Curriculum goals and competencies for History and the Social Sciences.

 

Active member of various IHCC committees: AQIP Communication Task Force, Academic Standards, Governance, Retention and Recruitment, Faculty Development, Search Committees, Strategic Planning, Student Academic Achievement Planning, Scholarship Committee.

              International students, returning adult students and students with special needs.

                        Grief Counselor/Community Educator

                        Worked with families and individual survivors of Sudden Infant Death.

                        Social Worker

Managed caseload of two hundred patients who were committed to Minnesota State Hospitals for the mentally ill.
