Course Description:

This course provides an introduction to Microsoft Windows XP. Topics include performing basic mouse operations, understanding keyboard shortcut notation, launching an application, and emailing files and share folders. Projects include the fundamentals of using Microsoft Windows XP, working on a Windows XP desktop, and file, document, and folder management and Windows XP Explorer.

Quizzes

All quizzes will be given as take home quizzes.  Each quiz has a deadline. You will receive a score of zero for a quiz you failed to take before its deadline. No make-up quizzes will be given unless an arrangement is made PRIOR to the time of the quiz. 

Class Attendance

Class attendance will be taken and counts for 10 percent of your class grade. You are allowed to miss one class without penalties.

Incomplete:
To receive an "Incomplete", you must have completed at least 75% of the required work unless you have a "documented" medical condition. It is your responsibility to provide a written request for the "Incomplete".
Grade Book Keeping:
Your grades will be kept at D2L course site.  You can check your grades anytime during the semester. If you have disputes regarding the score of a specific item, you must talk to the instructor within two weeks from the time the score becomes available at D2L.  
The "W" grade:

If you have decided not to participate in this class during the semester, it is important that you officially withdraw from the class at the registration office.  Otherwise, your grade for this class will be F on your transcript.

Grading: Your final grade will be determined based on your attendance and the total points you earn on the quizzes and the final exam.  

In general, 90-100% guarantees an A-, 80-89.9% for B-, 90-79.9% for C-, 60-69.9% for D-, and a percentage below 60% is an F.
