4/26 There is no new assignments from this week. You will be taking the Access and/or PowerPoint test.

 
4/19
  1. We will work on PowerPoint chapter 1 and 2 this week.
  2. In-Class assignments:
    1. Upload "Cabo Package" to the drop box labeled "In-Class PowerPoint 1".
    2. Upload "Identity Theft" to the drop box labeled "In-Class PowerPoint 2".
  3. Both the Access and PowerPoint tests will be given in class to be taken in person either on 4/26 or 5/3. You can take one at a time or you can take both at the same time to save a trip. The practice tests are available at SAM.
  4. Take-Home assignment (Due 5/2):
    bullet SAM PowerPoint Project 1 and 2. (download and submit at SAM 2007).
    bulletLog in to CoursePort and do the following:

    bulletWork on the following Student Edition Labs:

  1. This week, we will work on Chapter 7 from DC 09 book (Storage) and Access chapter 3.
  2. Access test will be given in class on Monday 4/26. The test must be taken in person in class.
  3. In-Class assignment: upload the modified database: JSP Recruiters to D2L using the drop box labeled "In-Class Access 3".
  4. Take-Home assignment (Due 4/18):
    1. Log in to D2L to take the Access 3 quiz. 
    2. If you have not taken Access quiz #1, you must also make it up before 4/18.
    3. Log in to CoursePort and do the following:

  3. The lab test on Word will be given as a take home test. It is due 3/8.

    1. SAM Word Project 3 (download and submit at SAM 2007).
  5. Take-Home assignment Part II (Due 3/14):
    1. SAM Excel Project 1 (download and submit at SAM 2007).

  1. This week, we will work on Internet Explorer and Word chapter 3 form the Office 07 book.
  2. In-Class assignment:
    bullet upload your Internet Explorer bookmark file to D2L using the drop box labeled "IE Bookmark".
    bullet upload "Canaan Cover Letter" and :Canaan Resume" to D2L using the drop box labeled "Word 3".
  3. Take-Home assignment (Due 2/28):
    1. SAM Word Project 3 (download and submit at SAM 2007).
  4. The lab test on Word will be given on Monday, 3/1. You will log into SAM 2007 to take this test. The practice test is available at SAM. I strongly recommend that you take the practice test. The questions on the actual test are very similar to the once on the practice test.

  1. There is no class on 2/15 (Presidents Day).
  2. This week we will cover Chapter 3 from DC 09 book and Word chapter 2 form the Office 07 book.
  3. In-Class assignment: upload "Wireless Communications Paper" to the drop box labeled "In-Class-Word 2".
  4. Take-Home assignment (Due 2/21):
    1. SAM Word Project 2 (download and submit at SAM 2007).
    2. Read chapter 3 from the DC 09 book.

  3. Take-Home assignment (Due 2/14):
    1. Log in to SAM2007 to download the instruction file and the start file. When you are done with the assignment, you will upload the file to SAM. You will receive your grade shortly after your submission. If you are not satisfied with the scores you can resubmit the assignment. You have five attempts for the assignment.
    2. Read chapter 2 from the DC 09 book.
    3. Log in to CoursePort to:
      bullet Take chapter 2 practice test;
      bullet Work on the following Student Edition Labs:
      bullet Connecting to the Internet
      bulletGetting the Most out of the Web
    4. Log in to D2L and take the DC 09 Chapter 2 quiz. The quiz contains 30 multiple-choice questions as follows:

      Question 11-20 are based on the Student Edition Lab: Connecting to the Internet.

      Question 21-30 are based on the Student Edition Lab: Getting the Most out of the Web.

  1. This week we will cover Chapter 1 from DC 09 book and Window Vista chapter form the Office 07 book. We will work on the following Student Edition labs in class:
    bullet Using Windows
    bullet Managing Files and Folders
  2. In-Class assignment: upload "Stationery.jpg" and "Practice.txt" to the drop box labeled "In-Class-Practice".
  3. Take-Home assignment (Due 1/31):
    1. Read chapter 1 from the DC 09 book.
    2. Log in to CoursePort and do the following:
      bullet Take chapter 1 practice test
      bullet Work on the Student Edition Labs: Using Input Devices
    3. Log in to D2L and take the Operating System quiz. The quiz contains 20 multiple-choice questions with the first 10 from the Using Windows lab and second 10 from the Managing Files and Folders lab.
  4. DC09 Chapter 1 quiz will be given on Monday 2/8.
