This assignment has two parts. Each part carries equal weight towards your
grade.
To complete the assignment, you will:
- Submit Bird Migration.pptx to D2L
- Take the Office 2010 PowerPoint 3 quiz at D2L
- Submit SAM PowerPoint Assignment 3 (Cooking Class) to SAM
Part I: For this part, you will read and follow the steps
in PowerPoint Chapter 3 in the Office 2010 book to create a presentation named
Bird Migration. This is a fun project because you will learn to
edit clip art and work with video and audio clips. When you are done with the
project, submit the file
to the drop box in D2L labeled PowerPoint 3. Figure 3-1 on page PPT 139 shows
the four slides you will work on.
Note: You will need a large amount of data for this chapter. I
have placed them in a zipped folder in PowerPoint 3 drop box. You can download
the folder from D2L. This is a compressed file folder. After you download the
folder, you need to right-click on the folder and extract the data files.
After you submitted the file to D2L, you will then take the
Office 2010 PowerPoint 3 quiz at D2L. This quiz contains 16 multiple choice questions based on
the chapter. It also contains a 4 point fill-in-blank question. This
fill-in-blank question will be graded based on your submitted file at D2L
(Bird Migration). The following are some useful tips while you
are working on the presentation.
-
Pages PPT 163 Step 3: The
Wildlife video clip is also available as a sample video clip in the
Videos folder if you are using Windows 7.
-
Pages PPT 168 Step 3: When I was
working on the slide, I could not find the audio clip using "Glade Birds" as
the search key word. If that is the case for you, you can try to use
only the word "Birds" in the search box. Or you
can use the audio clip in the data folder downloaded from D2L.
-
Pages PPT 171 Step 1 at the bottom of the page: Similar to the
situation with the Glade Birds audio clip. I could not find the clip using
Birds at dawn" as search text. If that is the case for you, you can try
using only the word "Birds" as search text.
Part II: In order to practice the skills you have learned in
PowerPoint chapter 3, you will be working on a SAM project. For this part, you
will log in to SAM. You will download a start file and the instructions file.
Follow the instruction you downloaded from SAM to create the five-slide
presentation. The finished presentation should look like what is shown on pages PPT
195-196.
