Access Assignment 2 Description

This assignment has two parts. Each part carries equal weight towards your grade. To complete the assignment, you will:

  • Submit the modified database Camashaly Design.accdb and the excel file you exported from Access Export-Analyst-Client Query.xlsx to D2L
  • Take the Office 2010 Access 2 quiz at D2L
  • Submit SAM Access Assignment 2 (ECO Clothesline) to SAM

Part I: For this part, you will read and follow the steps in Access Chapter 2 in the Office 2010 book. You will modify the database you created in Access chapter 1 and add queries to the database. Figure 2-87 on page AC 217 shows the complete list of queries you should add to the database. You will also export data from Access to an Excel file named Export-Analyst-Client Query.xlsx. Submit both the modified database file and the Excel file to the drop box in D2L labeled Access 2.

After you submitted the file to D2L, you will then take the Office 2010 Access 2 quiz at D2L. This quiz contains 16 multiple choice questions based on the chapter. It also contains a 4 point fill-in-blank question. This fill-in-blank question will be graded based on your submitted files at D2L (Camashaly Design.accdb  and Export-Analyst-Client Query.xlsx). The following are some useful tips while you are working on the worksheet.

  1. Note 1:  Make sure you submit your database for Access assignment 1 before you continue for Access assignment 2 because you will make change to the database.

  2. Note 2:  You will add queries to your data base. Be sure to follow the instructions in the book to save each query as you create them.

  3. Page  AC 112 Step 2: Be sure you remember the folder where you saved the exported file.

  4. Page  AC 117 Step 2: Be sure you type in the filed names exactly the same as they are in your database.

  5. Page  AC 127 figure 2-87: You should check your list of queries to make sure you have all the queries shown in figure 2-87.

Part II: In order to practice the skills you have learned in Access chapter 2, you will be working on a SAM project. For this part, you will log in to SAM. You will download an Access file and the instructions file. Follow the instructions from SAM, you will add queries to the database.
